❝ Those who are heartless once cared too much. ❞ Eret Soren was part of a hunted race, forced into hiding. He didn't have time to waste on daydreams. His whole life he had to work to control his powers, to take care of his mother as his sisters grew up and began to leave home, to learn how to protect himself, to hide and keep his heritage secret. In Eret's life, he struggled to find a sense of belonging in a place where he was caught between two worlds, neither wanting him, one ready to imprison him and the other ready to spit upon him if either knew what he was. He was a half-blood, a child both magical and human. Yet it's something he never wished to be. He didn't belong among humans, and he didn't belong among the Otherworlders, or really anywhere. Always somewhere in the middle. Since dark magic was created and humans began capturing and harvesting unique magical creatures needed for ingredients, peace was long ago ruined by greed and destruction, war sparked between the Human lands and the land of Diyosa where magic and all sorts of creatures found only in myth thrived. The gods had given him this life for a reason, his mother would say. Knowing better than to question their judgement, Eret would shrug and bear his birthright. But when he's forced out of hiding, Eret has no choice but to run. Soon enough he finds others all from opposite sides of war with similar problems, and they each reluctantly decide to join forces after discovering something that could change everything. With some help and a whole lot of luck, their journey could be their only hope of ending the war and restoring peace, and Eret may finally discover what plans the gods truly carved out for him. But what place does he have in a world that wants him dead? (Wonderful cover made by @niranju98 :))
