He slammed his hand against the counter. " You learned from a young age that not everything is what it seems. People break promises, they leave, or worse they stab you in the back. What makes you think I'm any different?" His eyes narrow as the thought rolls through his mind. "That he's any different?" I could see the tension in his jaw as he fought against his inner demons.
"I don't but at least he acknowledges me instead of being an ass every time he sees me." I could hear the hurt and anger laced between every work, not caring that it just seemed to make his jaw tense more. I turned my body to walk away, not caring what he had to say anymore.
