7 years after his graduation from high school, the narrator -only known as "G"- looks back on a better time during his teens. Spending his days drinking and listening to smooth jazz with his coworker at the office; G reflects on time lost, and the friends that have gone with it.
A Waltz in the Sea is a story of a young man's coming of age, and his essence of boredom and melancholy, shadowed by the existentialism that is growing up in the 21st century.

"The moon's really beautiful, if you think about it," I blurted. "Yeah?" he asked, mild amusement and curiosity mingling in his voice. "Yeah," I confirmed. "It's just- there's something about the moon that's ethereal. I don't really know how to describe it, but it's a constant in life. You can't always see it, but you have to trust that it's out there somewhere. And when you can see it, it's all bright and shiny and overcomes the darkness." I paused, searching for the right words. "I don't know. I guess it's a reminder that there are good things out there, even if you can't see them... And it's cool to think that someone hundreds of miles away is staring at the exact same moon as you. It makes me feel not so alone in life." Turning my head, I saw him staring at me intently with a thoughtful look on his face. "Too deep for a Friday night?" I laughed nervously, feeling my face grow hot. And this was precisely why I didn't go to parties. He shook his head and seemed to snap out of his daze. "It was deep in a good way." *** SHE was quiet & left out. GENRE:- Literary Fiction/Philosophical When we are kids, our grandparents recite to us stories of fables and fantasies. But Martin Brown would recite to his grandson stories of his good old voyages across oceans around the world as he had been an ex-Navy man. He would narrate to him how much thrill and elan the sea used to give him; and how it always had an enthralling effect over his mind. Nothing could make him sad when he would be sailing. Now years have passed and Martin is gone while the heritage of his stories, his grandson, George Brown, is a grown-up man. He has become a successful entrepreneur in Australia but has been a lonely man ever since he got himself into the business... despite having a family. Trouble arises when recession hits the Australian market and George's enterprise suffers a jolt. And as the market plummets, both George's professional and personal life get into a turmoil. With no option left other than immigration, George decides to embark on his trip on a ship as a homage to his grandfather. And as the voyage starts, so does the lesson of life and its meaning in the words of George himself in the form of a journal.
