Chalice Prewett fondly known as Ashen turns eighteen this summer ,when all the girls of her age are out in the season hunting for husbands. Chalice has to feed a family of six. She fends her family picking apples and working in farm. Having royal blood running in her veins won't quench the wails of her hungry stomach . 

But what happens when her grandmother who had forsaken her mom summons her. Chalice has sworn spinsterhood for her life, what if her marriage will be the only way to alleviate her family from poverty? Or will she find a Prince Charming who would sweep her off her feet...what if the prince is not so charming but the powerful and insane dark prince.Can she survive the ordeals?  Why did her mother run away from Bellword as the secrets of the past unfurls, the dangers lurking in darkness come to claim her and her dearest family's life. Will she yield the sword to protect the ones she love?
