Written in Blood .
{After OoT/MM fic}

Hyrule is on the brink of another bloody war when he returns, the hero that had slipped away to be forgotten by the land.

No longer a hero, living a life of isolation far away from the land that had made him a legend once. Resentful and broken, Link hides it best he can, trying to focus on the future and forget.

But Zelda remembers him, the person he once was. He's so different now, and perhaps she is too. The whole land is, transformed by war as Ganondorf works to seize all that he believes once belonged to him, in a time no longer.

Both Link and Zelda find themselves in the middle of this war, forced to fight and strategize and deal with their own inner demons as well as each other, amidst the war the Hylians fight to regain their land and defeat the King of Thieves.

                              . DISCLAIMER .
While this story is a war story, so it features violence, some gore, and death, it has many lighthearted moments and tons of (attempted) comedy. So enjoy and read at your own risk.

Heavily inspired by Rose Zemlya's fic, LOZ:The Return (it's on ff.net, I recommend reading it!!)

Characters, world, etc. belong to Nintendo

The surface was supposed to be safe again with Demise defeated, however, its anything but. In the shadows of the uninhabited land lurk rebel Sheikah, who call themselves the Dark Interlopers, who plot against Hylia's human reincarnation, Zelda, and her loyal hero, Link, in secret, building up power to take them both down. Around the same time, Link and Zelda come across a land parallel to the surface, a strange country called Termina, protected by the goddess Terminus. Terminus begs them to help her subdue the mighty Fierce Deity, who was once the goddess's hero before he was corrupted by the demon Majora. Link fights the Deity and defeats him, but he is wounded in the battle and filled with the demon's corruption himself. As he and Zelda return to their own land, the hero slowly starts losing himself mentally and physically, ultimately putting Zelda's life in danger as he tries to fight against something he cannot control. To make matters worse, the Dark Interlopers soon launch a massive attack against the two of them, capturing Zelda and leaving Link for dead. He is found and saved by the mysterious Sheik, the leader of the Sheikah who are still loyal to Hylia. Blighted Memories by Bard13
42 parts Complete
Amnesia was a funny thing. It strips you of all memories, both good and bad. But what it didn't take away from Link was his caring heart. He wasn't a man who had time to deal with or worry about things like memories anyway. All he cared about was doing what was right. But just because Link had no memories, or any interest to reclaim them, didn't mean they wouldn't return to haunt him. Ever since Link woke up, strange things have been happening around the land. Horrific creatures, not quite monster and not quite human, begin appearing at night to terrorize the denizens of Hyrule. Link, not one to simply let such evils do as they please, decides to investigate into the matter as he travels across the land to find a way to destroy these creatures. It should've been just another job for him, just a problem the people needed solved, just another errand for the incarnation of Hylia's hero. But as he investigates, he is haunted by his past. Link's mind cannot remember what happened. But his heart did. He still feels what he lost, what he failed to protect, even after one hundred years. That's what draws something toward Link, the very same evil that created the creatures he faces. It follows and watches him from the shadows, taunting him, waiting for him to remember the past he's forgotten, waiting for the pain to resurface, waiting for the time he can no longer carry the weight of it all. As he journeys on his quest to defeat Ganon and save Princess Zelda, Link must learn to contend with another ancient evil that taints the land, all while facing the ghosts of his forgotten past. But how long can a disgraced hero last in the face of his failures? Cover art designed by @DaybreakVision on Twitter. Some themes may be upsetting to some readers. Viewer discretion advised. 24 parts Complete
When the three goddesses of the Triforce unintentionally grant the Princess of Hyrule the Triforce of Power, and the evil locked away from the world the Triforce of Wisdom, everything is in chaos as it was before, only it's the princess this time who's causing the trouble. Zelda had been power hungry for years. Years before the mark of the Triforce of Power appeared on the back of her hand, she'd always thrown fits if something didn't go her way. Now, at only seventeen and fully gifted with the Triforce of Power, she made sure things went her way, and her way only. Ganondorf had escaped the Sacred Realm somehow, and returns to the Gerudo Village in peace. Accidentally blessed with the Triforce of Wisdom, he acknowledges the Gerudo's hard work and thrives to make his village a better place for everyone. Link, still possessing the Triforce of Courage, has been assigned to be Zelda's personal bodyguard and do something horribly wrong to please her majesty, which he does not partake in ever doing. Fate brings Link and Ganondorf face to face. Somehow, Link and Ganondorf team up and secretly plot against the princess to stop her vile plans to make Hyrule miserable. After all, it was Courage and Wisdom who saved Hyrule all those times before, right? •• [Post OoT; Before the events of TP] The Legend of Zelda belongs to Nintendo. The Fate Of Hyrule by BushGremlin
6 parts Ongoing Mature
Hyrule is in a deep peril... Although Link had gone back in time to warn the Princess of Hyrule about Ganondorf's true plans and what the future holds, it was not enough. A seven year war waged, the Gerudo-Hylian War, which ended with the Gerudo's success. Ganondorf became the new king of Hyrule, alongside his chosen queen, Zelda. The Hero Of Time ceased to exist after he died amongst the soldiers on the battle field. Those who object his rule are sentenced to a death penalty, and with the world becoming more and more unkind after ten long years, people are starting to lose hope. Even Her Majesty has begun to lose faith, that is until she got a closer look in a mysterious fellow (Oo, sooo mysterious~) named Shylo. She believes, with his help and optimism, they will be able to finally destroy The Demon King, Ganondorf. Unfortunately however, there is no one left to wield the master sword... or is there?... (This takes place after Ocarina Of Time) Warning: If you don't like reading long chapters, this book is not for you. Some chapters, of course, may be shorter than others or maybe even average length, but this book does contain various long chapters. Second Warning: I am cynical and cruel (so cynical! So cruel!...). While I will try to keep super erotic information out, I will still include what is necessary. Infants are also the most delicious snack... They keep you young. How A Princess Fights.

62 parts Complete Mature

When Zelda is forced to marry a tyrant that would bring her country to ruin, she lashes out at her new husband. The new King plots against her so he can have the kingdom and the Triforce for himself but Zelda has many friends in Hyrule. She must leave Hyrule Castle, her home, with no one but a knight at her side. She leaves with a promise, a promise to return some day, an army at her side and retake her kingdom, liberating her subjects from the King's tyranny. This is a Zelink story but I doubt it will be as good as my first Zelink story, 'A Princess Problem' but let's give it a try. I love feedback so comment on anything and everything, and correct me if you think I'm wrong. Be warned, there maybe smut but it is minimal. #1 Zelink OH MY HYLIA! THANKS!
