He just barely registered the girl's surprised expression before Drake's fist met Jamie's face. A searing pain shot through his cheek and up his nose. He winced, expecting pain, but the throbbing began to subside until it disappeared almost entirely. Pressing something hard into his hand, Jamie realized she had found his glasses. The frames were bent and the glass had cracked. Jamie groaned. "I really should get some contacts." The girl laughed, and Jamie felt himself smile a little. She helped him to his feet, and he wobbled but stayed upright. "You okay?"
