As a young Halfling living in the town of Hookopen, Mirabella befriends the elderly midwife Angelica Burrows. Having always craved adventure, Mirabella uses her growing skills as a midwife to travel around the West Province, healing illnesses and helping pregnant Halflings.

Finding love, having a family, and helping others gives Mirabella a content life. But there is trouble in the country she loves. Goblin raids in the north are turning Halflings into warriors. As the war grows and the death tolls rises, Goblins are only the beginning of Mirabella's problems.

Set in a high fantasy world, peopled by Elves, Goblins, and Halflings, Mirabella focuses on the harsh realities of a war-torn country struggling to survive against insurmountable odds.
