Here's just one possibility:

After the attack on her family, Isamu Ackerman is left seriously injured, dying and blinded. But then she is found by a young Squad Leader in the Survey Corps and taken back to their headquarters. Upon waking she discovers that not only can she see again, her wounds have been fixed and all of the pain is gone. 

And then weeks later when she has fully healed, she is offered training in the Survey Corps from one of their best members.

What will she do now? Will she accept the offer? And more importantly, how will she cope with the loss of her family?
