After her brother, Malcolm disappears and is announced dead. Princess Annabeth Chase has no idea what to do. She can't remember anything from the night of the kidnapping and suddenly the entire responsibility of the kingdom is placed on her shoulders. After five years things aren't getting any easier. Her father has remarried and her new brothers feel like Malcolm's replacement. However, the last straw is when her father announces that she has to marry someone and fast. In her despair, she runs to the beach, the one place that holds any connections to her brother.

The last thing she expects is to find her brother waiting for her.
Nor does she expect to end up getting kidnapped by a group of pirates the night before she was due to meet her betrothed.

Especially the same group of pirates that stole her brother in the first place.
