Santiago Garcia is a 12-year-old Latino boy who has been homeschooled for his whole life. Santiago was homeschooled by his mom Julieta Garcia. But after his mom got attacked by a shark and ended up dying later in the hospital, Santiago moved in with his grandma Valentina Lopez. The thing is that Santiago has never met his grandma before. That was because he lived in Miami, Florida, and his grandma lived in Los Angeles, California. Santiago did not know who his dad was so he could not move in with him.
