"Kill Your Heroes" explores the costs of becoming a hero, and what it means to remain one - even when you are past your prime and a new generation wants to take your place. This story picks up both before, and after, "A Hero's Death," an earlier short story I wrote that is also available on Wattpad. The original short story featured a male hero, but in adapting the "A Hero's Death" to a Kickstarter funded graphic novel, the hero became a woman. Although the genders of the hero in "A Hero's Death" and "Kill Your Heroes" are different, thematically they work with the same character and many of the same issues.
