"Until I found you I had nothing." He says as hot tears stream down his now pale white face. "I feel the same way," I say as I see a flicker of hope flash across his eyes, "I just don't feel that way anymore." As soon as I say it I regret it because I know it's not true. Every poisonous word flowing out of my mouth is a lie. I see the pain in his expression and I want nothing more than to hug him and tell him I don't mean it. But it's for the best that I don't. It's what's best for Ashton.
