"Everything was falling apart. Mama was about to die, my brother wouldn't even speak to me, and now I was constantly being watched by something much more sinister than the government."

James Hidaka, an unusually intelligent, bored thirteen-year-old in his sophomore year lets his curiosity get the best of him when a school bathroom proves to be of interest. As he investigates the anomaly, his family seems to be drifting further and further from the world, especially his mother. Then, before his very eyes, everything in his life seems to explode all at once, leaving his home and school life devastated and himself on the verge of losing it. As terrible of a way this was to learn a lesson, perhaps this was the eye-opener he needed in learning that there's more to the world and other people around him that he can see.

3 parts Ongoing
Fourteen-year-old Sheldon Cooper has always believed no one could ever match his intelligence. His world is built on order, strict routines, and the quiet certainty that he's the smartest person in every room. But everything changes when Noah Williams moves to Medford, Texas. Noah is also fourteen, a fellow prodigy, and the newest student in Sheldon's college program. After his parents' divorce, Noah and his mom are just looking for a fresh start. He doesn't want attention-he only wants to finish his courses in peace. But on his very first day, he corrects Sheldon during a physics lecture, and just like that, Sheldon finds himself facing something he's never encountered before: real competition. What begins as a tense rivalry quickly becomes more complicated. Every class, test, and project turns into a silent battle of who's smarter. Noah's quiet confidence clashes with Sheldon's loud certainty, and they drive each other crazy. But over time, something shifts. Sheldon starts to see that Noah isn't just competition-he understands what it feels like to be different, to be young and brilliant in a world full of adults. Their arguments soften, their study sessions turn into late-night conversations, and slowly, Sheldon experiences something he never expected: friendship. But Noah's calm exterior hides real struggles. The pressure to always be perfect weighs on him, and problems at home threaten to pull him away. For the first time, Sheldon faces something he can't fix with logic. Just as they find a bond that neither expected, Noah's mom gets a job offer that could take him away for good. The Other Prodigy is a story about rivalry, friendship, and growing up too fast. It's about two extraordinary boys who learn that being different doesn't have to mean being alone.
