A girl who is unnamed and abused, finds herself running away from her abusive dad. She never thought she would actually run away because she thought she would turn around and go back to her dad. She also never thought about what she would do if she did runaway. When she goes to sleep in a forest, not wanting cars to see her sleeping on the side of the road, she didn't know that se would be waking up to the sounds of wolves fighting something. She wants to help the rare creature win the fight, so she doe just that she helps the creature. When the wolves runaway, she sees the creature start glowing until it disappears into thin air. He finds her, and because of her dormant wolf, he thinks she's human. Soon she goes missing, because her pack members sold her to a rogue pack. Alex searches, and searches, but cannot find her. Her wolf has to completely go dormant, because it's just causing her pain and she would died of she didn't. Alex thinks that she's dead, because he felt the connection between them break. He finds another girl to be his mate, and when Ashleigh is found, she is heartbroken. Not only was it her pack that made her suffer through all that because they sold her, but her mate had given up on her because her wolf had to go into dormancy.
