15-year-old Cassie Marie Summers is a girl living in the humble state of Virginia. She isn't the most casual type though. After her dad dies in a fatal car crash, she is left with her mother, who attempts to spoil her daughter. Despite her attempts, Cassie becomes depressed, self-harming and having suicidal thoughts. She lived in Pennsylvania with all of her friends, until her father's passing. Even though she has her mother, she has a hard time making friends.

There is only one thing that can pull her out of her depression. The most powerful feeling and action in the world.
