Bill becomes unsettled with the fall of an empire and his loss of power due to a newer, younger demon put upon his throne, seated there by request of Oracle and Axolotl themselves. According to rumor that is. Talk ran around that she would make it better. Improve it perhaps. Why? Because Bill wasn't doing 'good enough', he had 'become soft', and 'he's obsessed again'. Then, in an unchecked ride of aggression, he threatens The Oracle, who had taken him in, and the demoness on his throne that he'd kill them all before they ever laid a finger on him. So, as consequence, he's cast out of the place he calls home. Lucky for him though, he knows just the place to rebuild and get back: A tiny little hick town in Oregon with two naive twins to help. If only being human was that easy...

Dipper and Mabel come back home after their summer weirdmageddon and begin life as usual. Until Dipper can't sleep and he wanders down into the kitchen, stopping short before entering, to overhear his parents talking about divorce. In response his life at school turns upside-down, his clubs and grades getting dropped, along with dreams of a stable career. Mabel finds out during a disastrous family dinner. Both Dippers' grades and her parents' love failing. Things seemed fine their next summer...until an old foe offers a promise of a lifetime to Dipper. Does he accept?...Should he accept?...He leaves that summer with a muddled head and secrets beyond his family's comprehension. If only he didn't have to go home to his dad packing and that damn Jake taking his place. Except it was all wrong...plus he had this creepy smile that set off all of Dipper's red flags...
