A story about two generations of Laurenses and Hamiltons, and how their lives become entwined through family, friends, self-discovery, and love.
It starts out rocky - Frances doesn't know what's going on in her life - her relationship with her father seems fragile, she doesn't exactly have a lot of friends, and the ones she does have have better ones than her. There's something going with her mind, she doesn't know what it is, and she hates it.
Philip has a good life - his dad is basically his best friend, but he has a million other friends at school that are all a close second. He's confident he can get with the girl he's recently developed a crush on until he meets her best friend.
John is lonely - he's trying to understand his daughter, but she has been more recently drifting away and he doesn't know if she needs help, or if he could even help her if she did. He wishes they could be a team, but she seems to prefer going solo.
Alex is overworked - he barely has time for anything. Recently a single dad, he's constantly at the office, working longer hours to support his seven kids. He's got Philip to help him out around the house and with the other kids, at least, but that doesn't make solitarily running a household that much easier.
Will the trip to the principal's office that changes all their lives be for better - or worse?

Cliche title, but I have a reason for it This AU is set in the late 90's-Early 2000's btw John has been blind all his life. He's gotten used to the near constant teasing, taunting and bullying for having to bring his service dog, Philip, everywhere. He wasn't expecting anyone to bug him that fateful day at the library, but meeting Alex was probably the best moment of his life. Alex has lived in the Caribbean all his life, and has just recently raised enough money to be able to go to America. He passed the entrance exam to King's College with such astounding scores that he got in full scholarship. He wasn't expecting to run into anyone that fateful day at the library, but meeting John was probably the best thing that ever happened to him. Will contain mentions/doing of adorable gay fluff, some straight fluff, self harm, bullying, swearing, and other things. Alexander Hamilton is selectively mute, depressed, and just altogether damaged. His soulmate, John Laurens, knows it too, from the overwhelming waves of sadness he feels occasionally to the aching pains in his forearms. John wishes that he could help him, but he knows nothing about his soulmate. However, the odds are in Alexander and John's favor when Alex enrolls in Kings College, where John is a student. John might find Alex, but will it be in time? Can he save him from James Reynolds? WARNINGS: There is rape, angst, depression, cursing, and lots of other stuff that is inappropriate for young reader. I can't stop you though. Basically how the soulmate thing works like: When you kiss your soulmate, a band in your skin forms on your left ring finger. You can change the band to look however you want. If your soulmate is feeling a strong emotion, your soulmate feels it too. If you get hurt, your soulmate feels a muffled version of that pain. Yes I used a Heathers quote as the title FIGHT ME (Don't actually I'm weak, there's a reason I act instead of playing sports) (Not that acting/dancing/singing isn't hard but ya). I really had no idea what I was doing when I started writing this so sorry if it's weird or things don't make sense. (I know that Laurens is the one that's 3 years older, but John sounds cute as a shy kid. I also know this is probably crappy, and ive changed some details, such as Lafayette being three years older than Laurens instead of three years younger, and ive made relations between characters that aren't real.
