I've spent my entire life never knowing who my parents were and not knowing why I was left abandoned in an alleyway as a baby. When you can see the bad guys coming and can taste the lies coming out of their mouth, you tend to make a few enemies; but I wasn't going to be victim any longer just because people didn't like what I knew or how I looked. Needless to say, I barely graduated high school without being expelled for fighting.
When I received a mysterious letter with no return address and a one way ticket out of this shitty town, I took it and ran like hell. Now I'm at some school with creatures that I thought only existed in fairy-tales and steamy romance novels. I have a centaur for a teacher, a sexy dragon-shifter as a mentor and a room mate with antlers that thinks vines are clothes. And did I mention that I'm half Fae? Yup, turns out I'm bad ass for a reason other than my skills with a knife.

Something didn't feel right. I looked around my room slowly; cautiously; taking everything in and trying not to feel too nervous. Perhaps Lure was in my room right now, watching me, silently laughing to himself. I didn't doubt it. I slipped off my bed and walked around, hugging my waist, and tilted my head. I felt my rough ponytail slide against the back of my neck and over my shoulder as I moved. "Lure?" I hissed, "Lure, are you there?" I wandered around a little, for some reason feeling scared. But why? It was only Lure. He wouldn't hurt me, would he? "Okay, Lure. Quit it. I know it's you. Who else would it-" I stopped, startled, when I heard a strange sound that made me cringe. It was like fingernails being dragged across a chalkboard. I whipped around and came face-to-face with my mirror. Immediately, I saw the difference. Various scratches were displayed across the glass, forming words. It looked as if claws had written the words in the mirror. "Deepest apologies, but it was fun." I screamed and pushed at him but he didn't budge. I then raised my knee and kneed him between the legs with all my force, and he dropped like a rock, holding his groin. Run. I took my chance.
