They kept poking the dormant beasts who isolated themselves from the world in order for chaos not to reign, they kept urging them to wake up and use their powers to its maximum potential.
To let their true natures rule, and their animalistic urges to take control.
However, honey may not always be what's in the jar, poison may be what's hidden inside this time.
