In a solemn Kingdom, girls in frilled white dresses shiver as they march past gardens haunted by disquietude; trapped within a blithe choir, they dare not break its cadence. Kassandra Agatha attends an academy of witches and warlocks who must adhere to such strict, painful routines of repentance and rituals. Instead of punishing criminals, the Kingdom disciplines its victims, who fearfully know that whenever they do not comply, horrific events carried out by an Unspeakable Curse befall their home. Kassandra never knew her mother Arabella, but upon a chance encounter with a mysterious boy, it is revealed to the witch that she was a sacred figure revered by a forbidden faith. Forced against her will to act as a living shield for warlock soldiers, Arabella ran away from the academy, and in her sleep, fell into a nightmare. Upon awakening, the lost girl felt a sinister aura harbored within. She had discovered the Cardinal Mother, a deity who was worshipped by a dark cult that granted its acolytes the means to enact revenge, yet reveled in inflicting death and pain... even to those who did not deserve it. Arabella became devoted to using the Cardinal Mother's gifts to judge the sins of others as fairly as she could, believing that it was her destiny to persuade the Kingdom to relinquish their practice of sacrificing innocents, for she had foreseen another way to stop the Unspeakable. But as Kassandra delves deeper into the past, she begins to unravel the truth of what really happened to her mother on the night of her disappearance... Do paranormal things, witches and magic exist? There are gifts that are waiting to be discovered. The mythical power is just waiting beyond the deepest darkest tunnel of the unknown. Only the brave learns to test the waters amidst the labyrinth of its knotted mystery. PLEASE, NO PLAGIARISM. (~Created July 6, 2018:Finished August 5, 2018~) Being engrossed in studying his current case detained him from leaving at once until he forgot the time. He never mentioned to Hera that he's going home after two decades. Only his youngest child knows of his trip back home. Whether he believes in curse or not. It's his 45th birthday tomorrow and he must be home to keep his promise to his mother. His family had never forsaken him, he did. He'd been ignoring their summons since he turned his back from them. Perhaps it's time to grant their plea. He closes his office and walks to the elevator. "Good evening, Artemis." The man in a black jacket greets him. Artemis smiles at the stranger. "Do I know you?" The stranger puts his arm around the stunned lawyer. Behind the unknown man's dark glasses are bloodshot eyes ready to scare the wits out of his prey. "Your mother does. She's expecting me to greet you happy birthday." Removing his dark glasses, he stares at his victim to corrupt his eyes. Insurmountable fear assaults Artemis as excruciating pain drills on his eyeballs. A horrible scream slits through the silence of the night when the clock strikes twelve. As the elevator opens, the stranger loosens his grip and the victim falls on the floor. Covering his bleeding eyes, Artemis winces from severe pain. The man whistles away as he walks past the dead body of the security guard in the lobby to the snowy road outside the building. His victim crawls out of the closing elevator. The curse is true. He must get into his car before his sight totally leaves him. He must warn his family. " I must save Athena!"
