"I did what you said, Hazel. I'm killing myself now, just like what you said. Goodbye." It's year 5056 and devolution in the human race occurs. Panic ensues in the small country of Lysithea and all hell breaks loose. However, about five percent of the population is given a blessing--or a curse--of evolution. These people have a special 'quirk' that makes them different. The world begins to rebel against the Specials, as they call them, and the Regulars start finding them for the government. Some turn themselves in, like Hazel Adams. Seventeen-year-old Hazel Adams has no idea what was going on in the outside world. She "killed" her parents at age nine, causing her to turn herself in and become stuck in a government official building. She doesn't mind, of course; in fact, she believes that she's doing the right thing. Multiple tests are done on her each day and she doesn't scream the way she used to. Her soft outer shell has hardened, and she is a big supporter of their government's belief on the Specials. She'd do anything to kill all of the Specials off, which is why she is chosen to lead the mission of finding the headquarters of the Protections Services for the Specials and destroying it. Eighteen-year-old Noah Brown has been the leader of the Protection Services for the Specials ever since he was fifteen. He is very passionate about what he does, and would not do anything to give it up. But it just so happens that he will have to give up his spot of leader when he fails yet another task. That monster is Max Thorne, Noah's nemesis, and the man who killed his beloved sister. He has to prove himself to assure his position and show everybody who really is boss. As Hazel and Noah's world begin to crumble, they will eventually find something, or somebody, that gives them enough hope to move on and conquer. Who will win, and who's the real enemy of this war?
