When Maya Reed finds herself stuck between two entirely different worlds, her own and Jaime Valentine's one, she doesn't know what to expect. Even though her curiosity to discover the truth about him is bigger than her fear of the unknown, some of the things she tries to find are better left buried. However, the deeper she digs - the more she discovers that maybe her world isn't what she thought it was. Maybe the solution isn't to separate those two worlds... Maybe if she combined them, she will find the answer to all of her questions. Maybe even to the ones, she's been asking her whole life... • • • ❝ Who are you? What are you? ❞ I asked trying to hide my fear, but the shakiness in voice gave me away. There was a dead silence following after. He didn't answer right away, but shifted even closer until I could feel his breath creating a path on my skin near my jaw. ❝ You already know... ❞ He whispered as only his red eyes illuminated the darkness around us. His voice was firm like stone. It was how I imagined death to sound like - cold and lifeless. • • • - Copyright © THIA [2018/19]

We're brought into this world to live; eat, learn, sleep, repeat, repeat, and repeat again. Until eventually the time comes when we die. Or at least that's how it's supposed to work right? For some reason I don't think it's working out that way for me. • • • "Thick eyelashes frame deep blue eyes, freckles sprinkle across his pale cheekbones. His thick, tousled-white hair falls messily over part of his right eye. A blush starts to creep into my cheeks the longer I stare but I can't look away-- his features are so unflawed that they seem to resemble some sort of marble-like stone. It's almost as if he's not human at all." • • • Lydia Ames's second last year in high school starts off with an accident where she looses the only family member she has left. As if that's not the worst part already, she also has a permanent reminder of the day's events. However when she meets a certain boy and his friends her whole world changes completely. The question is did it change for the better? Or will it end in the loss of everything and everyone she has left? *This version of A Touch of Scarlet is a first draft = grammar is painfully incorrect* #1 in Vampire: September-November 2015
