It came in the scent of the pine incense, moving down the gradient of one room, and into the next. It was so much like the barrel of the empty, shotgun thoughts that found me in the late of night. This feeling. Me, with my head in my phone, and her, with her eyes on the screen. Our only means of understanding.

Here she is. I can see the slope of her spine through that thin shirt. She's made of angles I ache to smooth with a hand, but I'd use my lips if she asked. I brush her knuckles with mine.
