Deep down, I knew it wasn’t Leo I was afraid of. He was pretty amazing, and it kind of made sense, in a weird way, that he would be special like that. So then what was I doing out here alone, in the middle of the night? I hadn’t completely come to terms with the shock of knowing Leo’s secret, but I was calm enough that I could think clearly again.

Gathering my wits, I stood up and tried to remember the way back to Leo’s place. I picked up the pace after I saw two silhouettes running towards me. However, when they were close enough, I noticed that one was a lot shorter than the other, and I stopped. Leo and Carter didn’t have that much of a height difference.

They were getting too close, now, so I turned my back on them and started running again. However, I was stopped seconds later by a figure blocking my way. Before I could say anything, a hand reached around and covered my mouth. Letting out a surprised moan, I struggled against it. At the same time, I smelled something so repulsive that it made me want to gag, but instead, I passed out.
