"Don't tell me how to run MY gang," I whispered threateningly through gritted teeth. "You might have been right before, but this is still MY gang, and I'M the boss around here."

"For now," he said breezily before turning and walking away. Perhaps it was only a figure of speech.

Or perhaps it was a threat.

Janie "Jade" Rowlens is the leader of one of the most notorious gangs in the city. She's tough, she's mean, but she's a girl, and that means everything. None of the other gang members accept her, in both her gang and their rivals, the Jaguars. As things start to get rough, though, she must fight for respect more than ever. But will she eventually win the respect she deserves, or will someone else knock her off her throne, and perhaps take her life as well?
