Kayla lost her mother the year before and her father, now an alcoholic, thinks that traveling to Laguna beach, California will help repair his and Kayla's relationship. She thought it was going to just be a summer vacation away from her home in Portland, but when she meets Olivia Cooper, her whole world turns upside-down.
