Sonic and his team must find and make creative ways to survive this turmoil, but also each other. Tense arguments go around their base as they have friends new and old joining them on this mission. Rivals, couples and more have to work out their problems to keep them and everyone else alive. After a long fight with Metal Sonic, as both he and Metal became super, Sonic was defeated but Eggman pulled the Chaos Emeralds from Sonic and Metal Sonic before the robot hedgehog could deliver the final blow. Eggman disowned Metal and called him useless before firing the cannon. But Metal chose to take the Chaos Emeralds when the portal became unstable and turned into a black hole. While grabbing the Ruby, Metal Sonic sacrificed himself to save the world, making everyone believe him to be gone... However, they did not know that he was sent to an alternate dimension, where he would begin his new life becoming a hero in the SMG4 universe, proving he will be a better hero than Sonic.

He told them to find someone who would help them to defeat Mephiles and everything will be restored. Before they could ask, the Master Emerald glows up and teleporting the entire world of Sonic to another world. A mysterious yet magical world where mirrored their world but differently. That's where they meet new allies with special abilities and other creatures as the search for the Chaos Emeralds again who was got spread away. Will they find the person they are looking for and stop Mephiles from destroying everything? (This story is based on Sonic Prime and Sonic X Shadow Generations).
