Cain, Alpha of the Crimson Moon Pack, would rather be left in peace. He has neither the time nor the patience for the Purists. His pack of misfits --half-bloods-- is safe and tucked away in the wilderness of Alaska. They stay far away from the drama of the Lycan world, where the last female purebred Lycan is fighting for her freedom. 

Lou spent her whole life being told it was her responsibility, as the last purebred female, to preserve the purity of the Lycan race. She disagrees, but no one thinks it should be her choice.  The Purists believe it is bigger than just her, and she should put her people before herself. She makes it her goal to escape, and when a late-season blizzard strikes, she gets her chance.  The only problem is that her escape sends her directly into the arms of the only Alpha who doesn't want her.
