Seventeen-year old pizza delivery boy Joe Smith lives a simple life - he has a bike, a job, and a crush on a girl. That's about it. He doesn't have dreams beyond working on the family farm and continuing to live in the same rural community in which he was born. Until one night when everything changed. After finishing his shift at the pizzeria, he heads home, riding his bike down a lonesome stretch of highway. Guided by the dim glow from the moonlight and a small light affixed to his helmet, he battles fatigue as he struggles to peddle the long distance home. When a strange object flies overhead fast and low, and crashes into a neighbour's cornfield, Joe is quick to investigate. Thinking it was a small plane or a downed satellite, Joe rushes to the scene of the crash. What he discovers is far beyond anything he has ever seen or even imagined before. The strange craft is definitely not from this planet. Hiding among the tall stalks of corn, Joe watches with caution as a mysterious being crawls out from the rubble. The Forest
Ernwood Forest is home to people living hidden from the prying eyes of humans; the Winged and their tribes. These people stand no taller than a few centimetres off the ground, meaning that things can sometimes get a little difficult... especially when humans are involved. But life isn't all bad. For the first time ever, Azure and the tribes have a human of their own protecting them from the sinister forces beyond the edge of the trees. As the months of winter roll in, nights are growing longer and snow has settled on the leafless branches. The forest is still. The only humans anyone expects to see are the few that know of the tiny people's existence. But the tribes are not alone in the forest anymore. The abductions begin. The past awakens. And a long forgotten shadow falls over the forest. Azure and the others once again find themselves having to fight to prevent their family from being ripped apart- only this time, things are different.
