Lacey picks up trash near the water's edge that's useless and sells it to a junk shop that gives it to recycling plants.
She has no worry of losing her job.
The world supplies a lot of plastic junk every year. A lot meaning around three hundred million tons of plastic, most of which ends up in the ocean.
What is worrying is that the world could be lost to plastic, drowning in it, while she and a small community of people pick up plastic soup containers.
What if it's already too late for them to save Earth's precious oceans?

The dreamer
So many deaths are happening. Some as a result of overwhelming heat waves, floods and raging storms, contaminated air, drought and famines, health risks, rising sea levels causing displacements and conflicts. In fact the list is endless. Most of lands and cities along coastline have already been submerged into the expanding seas and oceans endangering high number of communities. Also many species are getting extinct as the conditions worsen.

Sarina Earth is past saving, but to save the human race, six ships leave the planet to start over. When one of the ships is forced to do an emergency landing on a planet triple Earth's size, we are taken hostage in a Giant's castle and then sold. Although they feed us, I'm not fooled. Everything about them is designed to kill, so it's only a matter of time. Even if I have to do it on my own, I will find my way back to the ship that brought us here and leave this planet. Tarvik Getting called into an emergency meeting isn't how I would choose to spend the afternoon, but as Commander, I'm obligated to attend. Small beings landed on our planet, and per my king's orders- We're keeping them. My people are excited to have new pet types- cute ones at that- but I suspect they're capable of more than my king believes.

So on the year B18, all children born within that year were taken from their families and sent into a spaceship to be trained and prepared for the landing of this new planet.
