The First Kingdom

In a post-apocalyptic world, two teenagers find themselves living starkly contrasting lives. Themis has lived in the First Kingdom, formerly called Russia, all her life. So did her parents, and her grandparents. So will her children, and their children in the future. Themis has learnt to acknowledge the privilege of living under the reign of the Council, and she's learnt to stay away from the In-betweens. Most importantly, she knew not to question. Her values and beliefs are threatened when she finds herself running away from the very Council she had come to worship. An unlikely alliance-turned-friendship with Alden, a boy who grew up in the In-betweens, could be the only thing that can save her and help her discover the truth.
