"Jealousy becomes you, my dear." A raspy voice itched at the back of Rina's head.
Her heart thumped in her chest as she sucked in a sharp breath. Afraid to turn, she concentrated on the metal door instead.
"Am I to assume your allegiance is with the Pharaoh?" He continued, "Something the matter? Unable to face me? You were eager to gawk before."
Rina felt the back of her shirt get pulled. In one swift motion she was flung to the opposite wall. Her back collided with it, her breath leaving her. The millennium rod pressed against her neck, the wings of the staff stabbing under her chin.
"You were excited by my side. What's changed?"
Her face fell as Marik's face twisted in delight at the taunt. Biting into her tongue, she tasted blood. She fought not to react to him. Not to give him any satisfaction. He was clearly trying to rile a reaction, toying with her. She wouldn't show how it affected her.

A dear friend wrote bits and pieces of this with me. In her honor, I hope to finish it.
