The war is over.

So too is the Earth.

What remains is rubble, ruin. A few patches of civilisation lingering on amidst a dying world, harvesting what resources can be salvaged to be shipped off to the off-world colonies. It is a bleak existence, home only to the mad, the desperate and the capable.

And a group of would-be opportunists are soon going to find themselves at the mercy of the latter...

TROIKA - Countryhumans USSR x America, écrit par Arrin99423
12 chapitres En cours d'écriture Contenu pour adultes
The world is electrified. Everything runs on electricity, from lighting to transport, life support to social media. Oblivion. Then, grid is down. And the world turns dark. And doesn't turn back on. America, the most forward thinking and innovative Western idealist, has answers. Her feminist values push her neck to neck with her male peers. She is one of the first to figure out that the grid will eventually fail, because of the vein of fossil fuel instability, trying to raise the alarm. When the grid does fail, she doesn't even get the satisfaction to say 'I told you so' before she is forced to collaborate in the TROIKA - a trio of biologist, engineer, and geophysicist that must find an immediate and then long-term solution to power the earth. Oh, and she has no choice. USSR, a cynic planner and injured war veteran, has questions. Torn between his eastern roots and western intelligence, he struggles to fit in, curb his aggression, and deal with personal loss. Instead of notifying the world of the impending grid failure, he builds a vast arsenal nuclear plants to power his land against the rules, and when the grid falls, his lights and machines keep running. When finally his arrest occurs, he finds himself in a unique situation, offered a position in the TROIKA - but if he declines, then a life of darkness behind bars awaits him. The goal of the TROIKA is simple: Be quick, be correct, be ready. It doesn't take long for USSR and America to loathe each other on principle, each with their own goals and ideals, clashing on everything from fashion to economics. Can they push away their pride and save the world, maybe even themselves? Or will their bitterness engulf everyone in thick, oily darkness forever? A single choice will ultimately decide their fate. Don't Talk To Strangers | BOOK 1

87 chapitres Terminé

(not edited) "Don't talk to strangers." Everyone says. It's simple. Considering a zombie apocalypse wiped out the entire world in two weeks and now there's no one left to talk too but yourself! Elle McBriar has been on her own for the last three months. Despite never stabbing, punching, hitting, kicking, shooting or even hurting another person before this zombie outbreak, Elles' kill count is over 200. She feels bad, even though they're already dead humans coming back to life... But the (used to be) small town of Brickwood, upstate New Jersey was population 11,000. Now it's 1. The city of New York was wiped out in two weeks. And a single girl managed to fight her way through. She's searched for hours, days, weeks and months to find another living person. But it's no use. She's alone. Giving up seems like the only option. Will Elle give up? Or will unlikely allies join forces and band together as one? The world is ending and the clock is ticking. But only time will tell what happens. (some mature content) ---------------------------- highest rankings: #1 zombie apocalypse #1 zombie outbreak #1 zombie #1 horror #2 horror #4 humor #4 comedy
