Abby has no idea what she's getting into when she adopts Henry from the local animal shelter. The dog is crazy smart. And a little creepy with how much he seems to understand. Henry is so confused. He remembers being a man, and doing manly things. Like buying socks. But here he is, covered in fur, and wagging an unfamiliar tail in this apartment belonging to a kind but scattered woman. What's a slobbering dog-man supposed to do? This is a story I wrote years ago, when a friend said, "You should write a story about a man who turns into a dog!" I said, "Uhh... okay." Byron, a bright boy, with a big future, until he falls down a strange hole, here he's surrounded by demonic creatures, creatures who don't seem to know what he is, and one who seems to have taken it upon itself to care for this auburn haired and grey/blue eyed boy, as a pet. Shik, a creature with sharp claws and skin the colour of the night, and one day Shik finds a strange animal that walks on two legs, these creatures had been turning up a lot lately and many have decided to turn them into pets due to their weak bodies and lack of survivability in the wild.
