Being a Lycan is my favorite thing in the world. It's an incredible feeling of camaraderie, invincibility, and bliss. Especially when you find your mate. But sometimes, being a Lycan is complicated. You have to follow orders that you don't agree with, and sometimes it causes you physical pain to try and disobey those orders. In the worst situations, it causes you physical pain to obey the orders, as well as disobey them.

Sometimes, there's no happy medium. And when you find out that all rules can be broken and you'll still live through it, sometimes breaking those rules has some side effects. Bad ones that hurt the people you're supposed to protect and lead and listen to, as well as hurt yourself.

I had to learn that the hard way.

Max has always been pressured her whole life to find the perfect mate. Her parents constantly remind her what he should be every single day of her life.

When she meets him, however, it's because he broke into her home on a drunk dare. Especially because he's a human, her father is none too happy about the news. But when he uses the voice that forces his daughter into obedience to never see him again, things get messy.

The murderous and secretive and scandalous type of messy. Because Max's eyes are turning blood red, and the problems that come with it may not be reversible.
