Life has it's up's and downs, just like waves.

Without her mother and sister, Lana is left living in her dads dream home, with her baby brother. Trying to figure out life.

Two years after the tragedy, Lana feels like she has figured life out. Kai and her are happy and her best friend Mia is along for the ride. But will a spilt milkshake, change Lana and Kais' life?

"You know at sunset before the storm comes in, it's like the clear beautiful sky is being chased by the darkness that is the grey of the storm. It's like how during the day everyone seems to be peaceful but at night they are chased by the bad thoughts and negativity," I say watching as the clouds slowly take over the pink, "Sometimes those thoughts are only mild and we can deal with them and sometimes those thoughts can be damaging and harsh, leaving us with things to clean up in their aftermath. Just like storms. Sometimes they are mild with only a couple of bangs of thunder and sometimes they come with damaging winds and hail."

I guess I am relating to myself. I am the sky during the day and at night I'm chased by the storm clouds.

"Wow okay professor that was deep," Mia laughs then grabs my hand turning her head to look at me, "You know Kai and I will always be with you to comfort you through those storms. Hell, we'll even be there with trash bags once the storms are finished, waiting to clean up the mess and you now how I feel about cleaning up." I chuckle squeezing her hand and looking up at Kai who is now trying to build a moat around his castle using water he tries to carry up from the ocean in his hands.

Kai and Mia are my umbrella. Ready to protect me from the storm. The storm of thoughts or the storm of nature. Either way they are there.
