Ash Orman has almost everything going for him, well that is except for the fact that his parents named him Ashlie, but embarrassing names aside Ash has everything he needs, a stable friend group, a good chance at graduating early (so long as he can get his damn math grade up), a loving and accepting family, he's set. Or so he thinks. But when sophomore year of highschool comes around, throwing a peculiarly named new boy and a plethora of problems Ash's way, he is reminded that even the most concrete of plans can go south, especially when you're 15.

ORION GRAVES has always been on top. A straight-A, high honors student. Top of his class on the path to valedictorian and an Ivy League school. Until suddenly, that all changes. Orion was outed as transgender at his old school, and became victim to relentless harassment. Not to mention that in June of his junior year, his mother lost her battle with cancer. Now, he must move in with his father-whom he hasn't seen since his parent's divorce when he was 8. Moving all the way from Red, California to Lakeview, Maine, he has to start from the very beginning. But, as he starts his senior year in a brand-new school he's quick to learn that it's not going to be easy to get back on top, nor keep his head down and stay under the radar like old times. Because there's Caleb. CALEB MITCHELL, the star child of Lakeview. Honored for being so well-rounded he probably shouldn't get too close to a hill. Not only that, but he's nice. And funny. And surprisingly good-looking. And Orion's new best friend. But Caleb's lost someone too, and is struggling just as much; this perfect kid suddenly not so perfect anymore. He's got his own demons, and pressures, and a heavy depression holding him back. And yet, through these shared struggles, their friendship somehow manages to blossom into something so much more sacred. ---------- Cover and story by me, @collin_writes / @coolsaige (youtube) Official Playlist: https://open.spotify.com/playlist/2XONF7xeRhcFwDBWpbxmsB?si=7s4Whhq-RlewQIiya3UwQw

"I push him off me, making him stand on his own. But, Colton pushes me against a wall. 'Jax,' He sighs. Colton leans forward, his lips approaching mine. Soon, Colton kissed me with so much power that my head hit the wall behind me. I was stunned, and pushed him off me. 'Co-Mr. Haynes, we can't do this,' I tell him. He laughs, and leans against me. 'I like it when you call me Mr. Haynes. It's sexy,' he whispers the last part into my ear." ~~~ Jax was spending a casual night at the club, when he met the most handsome man in his life. He felt a spark, an instant connection. Or, maybe that was the beer talking. One week later, Jax was not looking forward to his last year in high school. He thought it couldn't get any worse than his horrible and abusive father, and his mother leaving that summer. But, he got to be reunited with his boyfriend, Rhett. But, Rhett becomes controlling. Abusive. And his former friend Zander will do anything to date him- even blackmail. That was when Jax thought his year couldn't get any worse. That is, until he met his music teacher, Mr. Haynes. The same man he slept with not so long ago. To make matters worse, he discovers he has a half brother named Ash, who is suddenly dumped on him and his father. Will Jax be able to make it through the year with Rhett, Mr. Haynes, Zander, his father, and even Ash seemingly going after him? Or will he collapse, and take his life like his older brother Dash has? *Contains mature content, such as sex, fowl language, LGBTQ+ (some people find it offensive), age difference, and suicide/suicidal thoughts.
