Diana Rosemont has always felt like she had something to prove with a chip on her shoulder and scowl firmly in place. Due to a split second of losing composure, she finds herself interacting more and more when the deaf boy in her class, Peter Smith. Despite her attraction to him, she doesn't have time to entertain the idea of a last minute high school fling when she should be more focused on how she is going to get out from under her grandparent's thumb after graduation. 

Ivan North is a bit of a wild card. He goes out with who he wants when he wants, and for how long he wants without a care in the world.  When this lands him with a peer mentor Malik Dotters, he's quick to take the opportunity to knock the star quarterback and high school hunk down a few, pegs. That is until he finds himself pulled into Malik's magnetic field that Ivan had promised himself to never get pulled into again. Especially before he's gotten the balls to even come out to his parents. 

Laura Belton is living the high school dream. She's the captain of the volleyball team, she's dating a popular boy that her parents adore and approve of, and she's slated to attend her dream university next fall for a degree she has wanted since she was a little girl. However, when her best friend Diana transfers out of her statistics class and she ends up with a new math partner named Katie Elias who starts to make her question if her life is really planned out the way she wants it to be. 

Three romances, all intertwined over the course of a singular school year that will make one question what one really needs in order to be truly happy.
