You are someone from Earth who sees the politicians of Earth as weak and lazy, the armed services as full of cowards and trigger happy lunatics and you admire the Settlement Defense Front's fire-power, expressing a desire to eventually leave Earth and join the SDF. Your main hatred of the people in power of Earth stems from the fact that your father was cast aside by the military after he was hurt. The story is set in Niriyain, an interdimensional prison world where those who enter can never leave. Cal, the son of two prisoners-Suilenroc, a thief, and Akemit, a disgraced nurse-has spent his life resenting the chains of a system that punishes him for the crimes of his parents. Living on the outskirts of society, Cal survives by helping others in need, especially the orphans and outcasts of the outer rim. One day, Cal takes a job to scavenge in the mysterious Unknown Region, an uncharted and dangerous part of Niriyain. There, he and his companions awaken the Unbeknownst, a godlike entity tied to Niriyain itself. The Unbeknownst tests the group, and only Cal passes. As a reward, the entity offers him a wish, but when Cal asks for ultimate power, the Unbeknownst can only partially grant it due to the restrictions of its kind. Instead, it transforms Cal into its herald, granting him the Power of Tri-control over the mind, body, and soul. Now imbued with incredible but dangerous abilities, Cal struggles with his new identity. The power begins to alienate him from those around him, even as he feels the weight of the Unbeknownst's expectations. Meanwhile, the ruling High Council-a group of ruthless overseers who maintain strict control over Niriyain-becomes aware of Cal's newfound power and sees him as a threat to their secret plans. As Cal begins to uncover the horrors perpetrated by the High Council, including experiments that turn people into mindless soldiers with glowing green markings, he realizes the extent of their cruelty and the chains they've placed on the people of Niriyain. Though reluctant, Cal begins to embrace his role as the Unbeknownst's herald, using his powers to protect the outcasts of Niriyain and push back against the Council's tyranny.

Simon was an unstoppable force, but Fate was an immovable object. Stationary. When you ignore it, and put up walls to secure yourself, it only delays the inevitable. Unavailing. It doesn't stop it. Moments in time slowly drill their way through, picking an open scab until it turns to scar tissue. It will break your skin until it drains you. You will deteriorate into ashes, scattered by the wind. And if you force yourself against Fate, shielded with a lifetime of trauma that you use to protect yourself- you're forced to recognize why you put the walls up in the first place. Every moment full of agony, abuse, anguish. Your walls will crumble, because Fate never fails. And as Fate tore the first wall apart, Simon was pushed.
