"You're a good person, Peter. You save people." I just hope I could do the same.

"Thanks... And what about you? You're stopping what you saw, right? That's something."

I gave a half hearted smile, "Yeah... I'm just scared it won't be enough, you know?" I let my feet swing lightly and I felt Peter's hand brush my hair that had fallen, behind my ear. I turned my head to look at him.

"Don't beat yourself up about it, Case. Some things just can't be changed."

"I hope your wrong about that." I said softly.

We looked out into the distance once again, watching the trees sway, the people still walking around the park and hanging out and I felt my worries flow into the wind. I was never that heartfelt with Peter, in terms of sadness and such. I never cried in front of him until last week and I wasn't sure if that was because I didn't want to feel like I needed to be rescued, or because I knew how he'd feel to see me that way. I knew he cared...

"Peter, I like you."

Everything's different now, after the Giant War. So even after arriving home Percy can't tell anyone the truth; not his mom, not his new, rather odd, neighbor, not the friends that he's afraid to be close to. But the truth always hurts and somehow, the truth always shows. Maybe it's a good thing that his new neighbor, Peter Parker, is just a little too observant. Or maybe it isn't. Meanwhile the world is changing. New threats have risen and been defeated. But people are disappearing, people are dying. And even the people who are supposed to be heroes can't stop this. But that's sort of the point. Now though the darkness which Peter has always managed to keep at an arm's length is right outside his front door. Right inside it. Peter can't lose anyone else. Percy can't lose anyone else. Both are sure that if they do they're bound to lose themselves. Now though loss isn't and if but a when. Not a when but how much. Neither of them plan on getting out of this one. Both are sure that there must be someone at fault. But innocence and guilt mean nothing in this blame game, because with all this hurt, with all this death, with all this pain, isn't everyone somehow to blame? And maybe they aren't so different, Peter and Percy. Maybe they can find a way to work together, fight together, stop this together. Maybe together they can find a way to get out of this one, find a way to save even those who don't want to be saved. Or maybe they can't. Maybe they are forever, always, doomed to be just one moment too late. Highest rank- #57 (!!!) Thanks to @CHAOS_WAYNE for making an amazing cover! (actually, she made 3 because I'm indecisive) Also thanks to my editor, who didn't want to be named but is so amazing.

He never let anyone close. Not because he didn't care - but because he feared what might happen if they saw too much, or if he trusted too deeply. All his life, he kept others safe. He was the shield, the silent guardian who made sure everyone else could smile, live, and breathe in peace. Yet no one ever asked if he was happy. No one noticed when the weight grew too heavy. Until one day, he was simply... gone. And when the world needed him most, he wasn't there. But they must find him. Because the greatest threat to the universe... is also its greatest protector. ✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨ Tony groaned. "Seriously, Cap, if I die from god-poison pancakes, you're paying for the funeral." "-Well, you do realize, Tin Can," Loki drawled, sliding a plate across the counter toward Tony, "if you're going to die, Rogers will die with you. Or maybe not. Since he's a super soldier. And Doctor Banner here..." his lips curved into a grin, "...I've heard he's immune to poison .So really, Stark, it will be just your funeral. Good." ✨✨✨✨✨✨✨ "First thing-no one knows who he was. He is called the man of myths for a reason. Second, why would such a being concern himself with a band of mortals who can barely keep their own city from collapsing? Third, where he came from... no one knows." His grin widened, sharp and knowing. "There is only one thing all the realms agree upon: in every universe, in every whispered story, he is known as the Protector of the Universe." .............................................................................. #bxb #moc #avengers #maturethemes #loki #tony #captain America #maturel

14 parts Complete Mature

Set after endgame. MJ and Ned didn't dust with the rest. QUENTIN BECK/MYSTERIO IS GOOD! TONY IS ACTUALLY ALIVE! Peter is all alone after Tony's death, May was killed in a hit and run and his friends are all older than him now in university/collage. He closes off and becomes more mature, smart and determined. He is more reckless though, not caring if he lives or dies on missions or patrol. One day he meets Quentin Beck, who changes everything. He is a superhero named Mysterio and has elemental powers. They become very close friends, rather like uncle and nephew. Slowly, he begins to close the gap in Peters life and they become New York's favourite duo. Little does the world know, that Anthony Edward Stark/Ironman...is alive. He was in a coma for three months but is now on his feet. The only people who know are: Pepper, Morgan, Happy and Rhodey. Tony hears about the new duo and watches them on TV. He admits they are a great duo but deep down he is jealous. It used to be Ironman and Spider-Man against the world. Peter was one of the only people he let close to him and he was practically his kid but now he is Quentins. Turns out Peter may be more of his kid then he thinks...Peter may or may not be a Stark.
