"Violet," I heard quietly. "Violet." I snapped back to reality as I heard my inner wolf speak. The intoxicating scent of pine trees and lavender filled my senses. It excited me, but what confused me was my wolf's reaction. "Elentiya?" I spoke to her in my 'trying to be calm' voice. There was no reaction from her. Searching the classroom for the owner of the scent, I almost missed the door opening. My body went into shock as that scent from earlier strengthed so much I nearly gasped aloud. Black hair was what I glimpsed first. It was so long I couldn't see the male's face. He was an average build, slightly muscular and I knew If I stood up he would be taller than me. "Ah, Mr Vasi. It's good to see that you can join us on this lovely day," my teacher responded to his late entrance with a hint of sarcasm. Vasi, where have I heard that name before? I realised where I had heard it before as the male turned towards the class. His piercing blue eyes shot straight to me as my memories exploded in my brain. "Mate," Elentiya whispered, almost too quietly with a hint of anger.

51 parts Complete

A genetically unique but emotionally lost teenager must figure out who she is within her mixed-up, warring world of Shifters and Wolfstalkers. ***** It wasn't Maddie's choice to be born a half-breed, half Shifter, half Wolfstalker -- a hunter of Shifters -- and it wasn't her choice to keep her identity a secret. But after trying to attend high school like any normal sixteen-year-old, things quickly spiral south when her Stalker uncle finds out about her and catapults her out of anonymity and into the awareness--or possibly the crosshairs--of The Order of the Wolfstalker. Maddie must think fast and figure out a way to keep herself and her family safe, or risk losing everything. Including her life. [[word count: 70,000-80,000 words]]
