Someone once told me that death is not the opposite of life but rather a part of it. They were right. Gathering what strength I have left I rise up from the ground. The dried up blood mixed with dirt sticks to my skin while my wounds make it even more difficult to move. Before he has a chance to strike me again I grab a broken off branch and stab him with the sharp end of the stick. He falls forward and I catch him by leaning him against my own batted and bruised body. He starts gurgling blood when I lean close enough to whisper, "What do you think of the monster that you created...Uncle?" My name is Myth Perez and this is my story.
