A short story! The crash was the last thing I could recall. My movie seemed to be on a dramatic pause for the audience. I was driving to work thinking of my day when a car hit the side of my car causing everything to shatter, including me. The last thing I could remember was taking the lights 'hand'. The light takes me through the good and bad times through my past life, like when I met my ex and the last time I saw him. The memories I should have valued and the ones I did. My family hid in our basement for days waiting for the sounds to end and it to be safe again. They said it was an invasion. That they came to exterminate us. But only a day after the fighting ceased and we were finally safe I found something on my way back from the market. Or rather, someone. A boy. Who became my best friend, until the day they found us and took him away. I was sure I'd never see him again Until one day I did. That was the day that changed everything.

I was drowning. I knew that. I also knew that the hands around my throat, pushing me deeper into the river water was the cause. What I didn't know was who was drowning me and why. It hurt thinking. It hurt to do anything right now. But I still screamed under the cold water and pushed the hands away as hard as I could. It didn't have much effect. I fought and fought, but I was getting weaker, and colder. The pain was overbearing. I couldn't breathe. It was the worst pain imaginable; and as the hands that were around my neck were forcibly ripped off by some unknown force, I slipped deeper into the depths of the river. My hair was straight above me along with my arms. My eyes were open and the water burned. A darkness started to pull me under, taking the pain away. I felt a small pressure around my waist, before the darkness completely consumed me. The last thing I remember is thinking, save me.
