Maria Jakenson is a well know artist in the land of angels. Even in the minds of some other supernatural beings she was one of the greatest artist of their time due to her diversity in the paintings.

Some of them bright landscapes that she painted in real time, out and about. Others dark depictions of war and death. She'd seen enough of that in her life to justify making art from it. Being an angel and living in a city with a bunch of other angels, she is supposed to be perfect. Prim, proper, not associating with beings who may mess up the reputation of the bright and usually happy beings.

Unfortunately for Maria, her shadow has a mind of it's own. J as he is usually called although his full name is Jakon Maris, is a demon. He was sent in to spy on angels but happened to fall in love with a specific one and trying to bond with her. He would always be with her if he was her shadow... He failed in this mission and bonded to a random angel instead.

J tried to undo this casting, but was unable due to him messing it up. He is now stuck with Maria who is equally, if not more, upset about this. Will they learn to accept this new predicament, or will they both die trying to undo it?

"This is an Angel girl named Maisie Lark. She hasn't ever stepped foot into the 'real world'. Attempting to break the lock is useless and I have the key. I've extended the olive branch. Maisie's your motive. Come find me when you're ready." Cecilia Star has been alive long enough to know what it's like to be a demon in the human realm, but she's also been alive long enough to cope with her everyday life. But when she wakes up handcuffed to a strange Angel she's never met before, she's thrown for a loop. Cecilia assumes it's all just one big, extremely cruel prank by the twins in order to rile her up and test her limits. After all, Maisie is everything that Cecilia would rather leave behind her, determined, opinionated, and so very clearly wrong. But it doesn't take Cecilia and Maisie long to realize that the handcuff prank is a little more than just a lighthearted joke. The thing about Demon metal is that it is a fickle thing. It can only be unlocked by the person who has the key and no matter what method is used, it cannot be broken. Cecilia would rather just forget the whole thing, refuse to give Ezekiel the satisfaction he so wants, and remain handcuffed to Maisie for the rest of her life. It doesn't take long to realize that it's just not possible. Maisie is everything that she shouldn't be in the human realm. Bigoted, rude, and annoyingly difficult. She can't even get close to Cecilia without making some sort of remark on how she can't stand Demons. As the time ticks down and options become less and less, maybe being handcuffed to each other will teach Cecilia and Maisie a thing or two about themselves. Maybe running from the past isn't the right choice and perhaps, maybe even a Demon and Angel could fall in love too. (Entered in the Open Novella Contest 2022 under prompt 79. With his determination to use his new powers as the Key Holder, he gathers Julian, Quinn, Ashley, and Troy on a quest to resurrect Clara. They are on the hunt to find the Locket of Paradise, but in order to retrieve it, they must travel through the Hollow Grounds. No demon has ever survived this realm, but Elias was no longer an ordinary demon. He was different. He was changed. Once Elias succeeds in bringing back Clara, her heart seems to be shifted. Clara feels a strong connection with Elias, as if they are bound together. The connection is so strong that it controls her actions and she desperately wants to fall into his arms, but her love for him has consequences. The Underworld and Heaven despises anything that represents the integration between good and evil, and their decisions will cause a war. Is it worth the risk?
