"April, come out and play with me." Her words echoed through the empty hallway in a shrill giggle, the sound of something heavy being dragged accompanying her footsteps. "Let's play our favourite - a round of duck, duck, goose. If you win, you can walk through that front door alive." I knew that was a lie. You can't ever win duck, duck, goose. Not when your soul was on the line and five kids were already dead.

IT lets go of me, my head hits the ground again, no sound echos this time. IT's mouth movies, but my ears ring, so I can't hear IT. Everything is blurry and movies too much. I can't focus on anything. IT looks at me, IT's eyes are all gray. IT smirks and stands all of the way up, towering over me. I pull myself up and wobble away from IT on unsteady feet. I look back to see IT laughing, watching me walk away. I can't hear her terrible laughter, and I don't want... to... I fall over, feeling woozy. My head spins and I sway as I try to stand. I look back again, to see that the fog has covered my path, and I can only see a couple of inches away from my face. I blow out air and fall over. * * * * 13 year old Colten, takes a shortcut through the field next to his house on his way home. But why can't he reach his destination?
