I watched the water, scanning it for the millionth time. There were no ripples, no sign of life other than the occasional cricket. I bit my lip, staring out over the waves. "Where are you?" Sighing, I turned away, making my way back over the rocks. A splash echoed behind me, and I gasped. Spinning around to face the water- I lost my balance. I'm falling. I felt my head hit a rock, and everything went black. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Zoe Alabaster has based her entire life on a moment in her childhood: when she saw a selkie. She now works as a cryptozoologist, trying to prove the existence of creatures humans never believed possible. Her first research project, the one that will change everything? Finding proof of the selkie she saw as a young child. She never expected to really find proof. And she definitely never expected to fall in love with the creature she's dreamed of finding her entire life. ------------------------------------------------------------------- Just to clarify, this is a story about a lesbian zoologist and a (bi? lesbian? pan? who knows) selkie girl.
