Into the Velvet
*EDITORS' CHOICE 2021*After falling for her senior year teacher, Louise learns a harsh lesson on what adulthood isn't. Louise has some trauma to unpack. Heartbreak's a bitch, and her first relationship had been anything but normal. Thinking herself mature for her age, her affair with Mr. Cain started swooningly well. Except things ended quite abruptly. It's a lot for a seventeen year old to handle. But who's really at fault for what happened? Who even is Mr. Cain, and what is he hiding? From the wreckage of her naivety and self-esteem, can Louise save her friendships and rebuild herself? Our love songs aren't telling the whole truth. How can this be? In this tale of vulnerability, adolescence and painful reckoning, the arrogance of youth demands a price. * "'You're what, Louise?' he asked. 'You're sorry? What am I supposed to do here? How can I turn this around? How can I tell you that everything you want and feel is reciprocated, when I have to go back to work and pretend none of it happened?' 'I don't know the answer!' I cried. 'Neither of us do.' I threw my hands up in defeat. He caught them before they could fall. 'But how do I go back to living without your words?' His voice became a whisper. He squeezed my fingers tightly, closing his eyes and bringing them to his chest. 'I need how you make me feel, Luiza. I need it to feel alive. I won't stay away. No one's made me feel this good before. And I can't stand myself for wanting what I want. What do I do?' I was a violin bow on the verge of splintering. Every inch of me pulsed with an ache that began from the marrow of my bones. Fate had brought us here. At this crossroads of ours, there were a hundred different choices to make. A thousand different lifetimes to choose from, stemming from and decided entirely by my next choice. And in the end, I chose incorrectly. I held his face between my hands, feeling the echoing pulse of his skin. I brought his face to mine. I kissed him."Complete
Expanded Horizons: Beyond the Blue
The world consists of far more than a few people, and far more than just what you see of them now. All characters have a past, a story, some piece of themselves hidden by time that makes clear who they are today. These hidden aspects can be revealed by more than just their stories, too; sometimes, what happens off-screen is even more important than what's on display. Follow me through the world our heroes and villains inhabit and see just how far we can go together! -This is all backstory and world-building for the Freelands of Into That Wild Blue Yonder (https://www.wattpad.com/story/214070883-into-that-wild-blue-yonder). Just around 50K words. -I also wrote up a brief encyclopedia with general world info here (https://www.wattpad.com/story/216689041-a-brief-encyclopedia-of-the-reimagined-world). Contains no spoilers.Complete

The Shepherd: The Struggle For Power And Freedom
"Ten years ago, they summoned me to save their dying dynasty. They got something else entirely." Louis LaVoie was just a 22-year-old engineering student when the Empire of Fiercœur tore him from his world. They wanted a hero. They needed a savior. They got a murderer. "I loathe my old world. There, men are abandoned by society, left weak and purposeless. Here in Fiercœur, I found what I truly am." In a realm where three dynasties tear each other apart in brutal civil war, Louis discovers that his greatest weapon isn't the mysterious power to summon objects from his world. It's something far more dangerous: the ability to turn back time, keeping only his memories of what's to come. Taking advantage of mistakes that never happen. "When someone fights you, you don't defend your honor. You defend your life." But power comes at a price. As Louis transforms from soft student to hardened warrior, he must navigate deadly politics, nomadic horse archers, and the brutal training that forges Fiercœurois soldiers into living weapons. "I decide which sheep live and die. As long as I have a flock to lead." The Cœurvaillant Dynasty is outnumbered. Their enemies are closing in. And their supposed savior has learned that in Fiercœur, mercy is earned through strength, not given through weakness. "Violence works. When it works, it's extremely potent." Some called him hero. Others called him monster. He calls himself Fiercœurois. "I am proud of what I've become. I don't care if you hate me for it." From brilliant student to merciless commander, witness the transformation of a man who found his true nature in a world that celebrates becoming strong. Welcome to Fiercœur. Where proud hearts forge empires in blood. Cover made by @yeeetrt
"Almost Green"
Strands of your mind cling together like web to a slippery leaf bathed in the morning dew. You have seen both heaven and hell, witnessed the atrocities of war firsthand, and imagined a better life in the deepest, most intimate corners of your dreaming spirit. The wishes for peace and certainty you have once so desperately longed for, now lay trampled underneath the might of your mind's vivid horrors. What was once so bright and lively, now cowers in fear, clinging to gone memories like a shipwreck survivor to some lowly piece of driftwood. From the depths of hell, you arrived victorious, grasping the laurel wreath high above your head. Unrecognizable, with your empty eyes telling a story of innocence brutally taken away from the child curling in shame in the depths of your empty soul. Almost green you are, curly head, having grown up with a rifle by your bedside table, never knowing peace and quiet. Out of the pan that was the Kazdel Civil War and into the scorching flames of Lungmen, where life flows by on its own accord, here, you must learn to live once more. So put on your best facade, Let the reuniting trumpets ring a wild, And allow the city to swallow you whole. Here we are, a continuation of my previous work "Goodbye Curly Head", which sprawled into quite the epistle (but it wasn't really a letter, it's just long :P). Summarized in the most basic way possible, it's a story about a twenty-year-old Kazdel Civil War veteran who goes to Lungmen and has some troubles acclimating to the steady life presented before him. Sprinkle in a too-good-to-be-true offer and a freshly established logistics company, and you get Andy trying to make it big for as long as his deteriorating mental state lets him. I'd say it works as a standalone story for anyone who doesn't want to bother reading the first part. For now, at least. As always, please, pwwease leave a comment, positive, negative, I LOOOVE reading and replying to comments!!Complete
