I raised my voice so she could hear as she walked out the door, but she stood, holding it open.

Her pink lips parted, about to say something, but a buzzing sound came from her purse. She pulled out her phone and frowned at the screen.
"Goddamnit," she muttered and put her phone away, looking back up at me. Her green eyes met mine for the last time, cold and annoyed. Her light eyelashes framed them as she squinted, and her stare held me in a trance.
"Good luck with all that, Mr. Devlin."
And she left.
