Mature
At the age of fifteen, Caroline Andrews meets Jim Morrison, and knows without a doubt that he is the love of her life. He leaves for college later that year, crushing her heart in the process, and she has no choice but to move on.
At the age of nineteen, Caroline is forever changed by a tragic loss. And at the age of twenty, she is suddenly reconnected with her high school sweetheart.
What Caroline felt for Jim as a teenager pales in comparison to the intense and deeply passionate love she feels for him as a woman. But things have changed: Jim is now the lead singer of an on-the-rise rock band, and Caroline is desperate to numb the pain that her loss has brought with it.
As the years go by, her life becomes overtaken by addictions, jealousy, promiscuity, and chaos. The one thing she knows is that without Jim, she is nothing. Their love is all she has, but the question remains: is love enough to save you from your own fate?

THISIS THE OLD, ORIGINAL VERSION OF THE STORY! I left it up because the new version has significant differences, and I know I always hate it when I liked the old version of a story better and it gets taken down, but I still highly recommend reading the new one. Without further ado... __________________________ "Confidence? I've struggled with confidence my entire life. In fact, to this day, I still struggle, so I fake it. Faking confidence is a lot easier than most believe. Stand up straight, hold your head high, roll your shoulders back, look others in the eye, and stop apologising. Soon, your confidence isn't fake anymore." *** Davy and Jamie Myers were sisters. Just like any other pair of siblings, they had their disagreements and fought every once in a while. However, they were also each other's best friends. They never went a day withough hanging out. When an accident takes Jamie's life a week before granduation, Davy finds herself in a place no one ever wants to be. Her depression and anxiety start to consume her until she realizes the only way to keep her mind busy was to sing. So she started singing her sister's favorite music. *** Scott Jacobs always had a hard time making friends. Music inspires many to persevere, hope, dream, laugh, cry and process a wide variety of emotions. Music was very important to Melissa Campbell, having been the only constant in a tumultuous existence. It was key to her survival--her addiction. Far worse addictions were a hostile presence in her life that ultimately robbed her of a nurturing childhood and a happy marriage. Her perception of love was clouded by the misconception that other people's needs came first and only when she sacrificed herself did she feel worthy of it. Most of her life passed before she broke this cycle, finally finding happiness within herself. Melissa's motivation to change was spurred by one band in particular in more than one way. She followed a path that led her to what she was meant to do all her life--become a writer. Not only did she develop a passion for writing, she fell in love with a handsome bad-boy rock star. Shannon opened up a whole new world, giving her a depth of desire she'd never experienced. He lived in LA and she lived on the opposite side of the country however, making it a challenge to pursue a relationship. The idea of moving to California posed many doubts for her. Were his feelings genuine? Could he be faithful despite his widely acclaimed playboy reputation? Could she adapt to a different lifestyle? What hardships would she face in the public eye if they were a couple? She wanted answers before leaving the only life she'd ever known, but that was far from realistic. If she wanted him, she'd have to risk it all to see how things would unfold.

Sydney didn't have much, but that was fine with her. She didn't need much. Growing up on the Washington coast in a lonely beach town, working quietly behind the scenes was what she was good at. Living on the beach was much less glamorous than most people imagine. Her home was a beat up old Winnebago that she had shared with her father until he passed. Her father had been a detached parent. He loved his daughter of course, but he was by no means an affectionate man. She had grown up fending for herself, working backstage at a bar that hosted live bands using a fake ID. After the death of her father she saw an ad for a guitar technician for a local Seattle band. A love of rock and roll had been the one thing that her and her dad had in common. Selling everything that she didn't need she packed up her pickup truck and travelled north to the city, leaving the sleepy town in her rear view mirror. She didn't expect to embark on what would become the adventure of a lifetime. For someone who had hardly left the town she grew up in, the opportunity to get paid to travel the country and listen to great music was a dream come true. The band became her family, and life on the road was a perfect fit for her. Chris Cornell instantly became Sydney's best friend in the whole world. They were in love, that was plain as day to anyone who paid attention. Yet, sometimes love isn't as simple as it should be. Sometimes, love hurts.
