Magnus Jensen is a careful man. He know what has to be done, and when it has to be done. He knows exactly where to look for the information he needs. He's smart, talented. But this case is a whole new world to him. Literally.

Erik Fuchs is careless. He knows what streets to take to avoid trouble, he knows where to hide when things get rough, and he knows the best places to haggle some free food out of people. Maybe even a little cash for clothes or medicine. He fears for the woman who travels with him, who doesn't even recognize his face sometimes.

Emily Baker, confused and shy. She suffers from a bit of a dissociative disorder. But she knows how to survive. Pain is too well known to her and she hates it all. She relies on her new friend to help her save herself... from herself.

Florence Aurora is dead. She doesn't know that, though. She wants to live her life happily in her home, well until said home is torn down and now she is not just a ghost, but a displaced ghost. She meets a group of unfortunate people and so the adventure begins.

Ray Petrova is a highly respectable doctor, but not for long. Some shady people kidnap her and she is forced to do things she would have never considered in the past, including murder to get out. She too, finds some hope among a rag tag team of a distraught detective, a ghost girl, a girl with multiple personalities, and a gay homeless guy.

Together these five have hell ahead of them, finding their way into an alternate reality, coping with their troubles all while trying to solve the greatest mystery ever bestowed upon them.
